Kanye West gave his first performance since his Mom passed away in Paris last night. Reports say that he broke down while he was dedicating the song he wrote for her, "Hey Mama", to her memory. Ouch. That had to have been tough. He reportedly started the song, and then broke down while his DJ and band came forward to console him. Why would you put yourself through that? Parisians would understand if you took a pass, dude. Kanye left the stage for about fifteen minutes and then came back to close the show with "Stronger".

"He was very nervous, seemed to have gathered himself up, and had a lot of energy," Magloire says. "He kept shouting out to the audience, 'I need you... I need you right now.' and the public was screaming back. It was magic."
Oh my god, is this "Rudy"? You know if he becomes an icon, there's gonna be a movie and that's gonna be one of the big scenes. I got chills reading that bit. He's usually a diaper rash victim, but the guy lost his Mom and I love stories of triumph through tragedy. If you'll excuse me, I'll go back to watching "Beaches" now.
