The Latest Odds On Favorite To Win Dancing With The Stars

It’s down to the final four tonight on ABC’s top-rated “Dancing With the Stars” (8 p.m.), pitting a Spice Girl Mel B, Helio Castroneves, Marie Osmond and Jennie Garth. Each has two dances, and three will make it to next week’s Season 5 finals. USA Today’s Gary Strauss looks at the four with the help of frank-talking “Dancing” judge Carrie Ann Inaba; Jeff Allen, author of the DVD and book “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Ballroom Dancing,” handicaps each.

Helio Castroneves: 8-to-1

The Formula One race car driver never expected to last this long. “My goal was not to be the first one eliminated,” says Castroneves, partnered with Julianne Hough. ”It’s really been cool. And I’m just having a lot of fun.”

Marie Osmond: 15-to-1

No other competitor has faced Osmond’s tribulations. She fainted on live TV after one performance. And she perseveres, with partner Jonathan Roberts, despite her father’s death and her 16-year-old son entering rehab during the competition.

Jennie Garth: 5-to-1

The former “90210” star, partnered with Derek Hough, Julianne’s brother, has had surprising staying power. “Getting this far is completely unexpected,” Garth says. ”It’s been a crazy ride because I don’t know what I’m doing, but we pull it together for the show.” At this point in the competition, “it’s anybody’s game. It’s about the fans and who they want to see win.”

Mel B: Even money

She has wowed judges and fans, gaining momentum with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, despite double rehearsals for ”Dancing“ and an upcoming Spice Girls tour.

Honestly, I thought Helio was the favorite because the ladies love him, and he can actually dance.  Anyone have an opinion on this contest?  Who is your favorite?
