Britney’s twisted childhood: sex at 14, gradma commits suicide, uncles are homeless

Britney Spears really wasn’t that innocent as a teen. Eric Ervin, a lawyer who worked with Britney as a teenager, reports that the “virgin” image Spears was trying to portray back in the days was, in his words, a “PR blitz.” In fact, Us Weekly reports in its new issue that Britney “lost her virginity at 14 to boyfriend Reg Jones, and that she and Justin Timberlake were intimate from the beginning.” Another thing that Britney kept secret is her family’s tragic history. Britney’s paternal grandmother, Emma Jean, who suffered from depression, apparently shot herself in the chest with a shotgun at the grave of her infant son back in June 1966. She committed suicide at 31 year-old after her son died three days after being born. A local newspaper article obtained by the tabloid reported at the time: “The shotgun had been pressed against the woman’s chest and she apparently pulled the trigger with a toe of the right foot from which a shoe had been removed.” The newspaper also reported that Emma Jean had attempted suicide three times before. Emma Jean left behind four other children, including Britney’s father then an eighth grader. What’s more is that two of Jamie Spears’ brothers ended up with criminal records and homeless.(i.e. Britney’s uncles). You can find more troubling details on Britney Spears’ disturbing childhood in the new issue of of Us Weekly, on newsstands Wednesday nationwide.
