More Celebrity Do-Gooders

It's that time of year again.  The period between Thanksgiving and New Years when everyone, including celebrities, starts to get that warm fuzzy goodwill-towards-men feeling.  Brangelina aside, several A-listers are stepping up their do-gooder status.

Cynthia Nixon is teaching her kids about charity.  The "Sex and the City" star volunteered recently with the Curél Lends a Helping Hand Campaign, which raises money for the American Red Cross.  Cynthia wants her two children, Samantha and Charles, to know it's important to give back.

Animal-loving Christina Applegate is baring all (or most, anyway) in a new ad campaign for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.  The sexy star volunteered for PETA's campaign trying to get people not to buy fur as holiday presents.  In the ads, Christina is sporting nothing but a pair of red and green gloves.

Even Nicole Richie is getting into the charitable act.  The about-to-pop starlet and her baby daddy Joel Madden formed the Richie Madden Foundation to help low-income mothers-to-be.  Nicole and Joel donated gifts from their recent A-list baby shower to the Foundation, which will hand the goods out to 100 expecting families.
