As we all know, however, spokespeople tend to lie when it comes to their clients. Remember all those months that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt tried to convince us that they weren't a couple? So in case the denial proves false, here are the details of Kate and Pete's supposed wedding anyway,
According to London's Daily Mail, the 30-minute ceremony was Buddhist and took place at 1:30 pm local time in the private gardens of the Amanpuri Hotel. Kate was barefoot and wore a Galliano shift dress. She wore flowers in her hair and both bride and groom were draped in flowers. Pete wore a black linen suit and a porkpie hat. Water was poured over their heads during the exchange of vows.
Pete, who is on probation for his many drug offenses, was able to leave the country after asking permission from his probation officer.
The Daily Mail reported that the marriage is not likely to legally binding in the UK. The paper reports that the couple will make it official on January 18 at a London register office. A friend of the couple said, "We've all been asked to keep that date free but not been told why."
Another insider weighed in on the event, telling the London Mirror, "This was not likely to be a formal wedding because Kate would have wanted all her family and friends there. It is much more likely to be a symbolic gesture to show everyone just how serious they are about each other.” Kate's mother and brother were the only confirmed guests at the ceremony.
A staff member at the Amanpuri Hotel told the Daily Mail that Pete and Kate intended to honeymoon on another Thai island. They would be traveling to the new location in a friend's helicopter.
