Though Helio Castroneves danced to victory on Dancing with the Stars his real life dance partner and fiance Aliette Vazquez has broken off their engagement.






The two had been dating for six years and engaged for one.






"I can confirm that Aliette Vazquez and I have called off our engagement and are no longer together,” Castroneves told People. "At this time I would prefer to keep my private life private."






Vazquez released a statement to TMZ.com through her rep Wednesday morning. "There have been a lot of rumors and a lot of misinformation out there," Vazquez's rep Howard Bragman tells told the web site and she "wanted to set the record straight. This is a personal decision and I ask the media to respect the privacy of Miss Vazquez and her family. She has no plans to talk to the media, but reserves that right if she needs to clarify misinformation or defend her reputation."





In other Dancing news, Spice Girls star Mel B, who scored the highest marks throughout the series, said, "I had a great time and I can't believe we came so far. We almost won it, but we didn't - and that hurts."





Marie Osmond, who lost her father and revealed her teenage son had checked into rehab while competing on the show, fought back tears as she was handed third place at the beginning of the results show.






And one returning professional, ousted Cheetah Girls star Sabrina Bryan's partner on the dancefloor and in real life Mark Ballas, was rushed to hospital in an ambulance following his finale performance after badly injuring his shoulder. It is believed he tore a muscle during his return performance with Bryan.





Meanwhile, the stars are already lining up to take part in the next Dancing With The Stars series - former The Brady Bunch actress Florence Henderson has signed on to take part.

Julianne Hough confirms with Ryan Seacrest that she is good friends with Kevin Connolly and that he did indeed give her a ring. Julianne says he has been very good to her and that she does not know a lot of people in LA. Ryan offers to rectify this issue.

  • Leave the girl alone! She is only 19...there is no need for her to rush into a serious relationship with anyone. She can't help that she's absolutely gorgeous...I'm sure there will be many, many more men who will want to pursue her!
