See More... Singer Mary J Blige is pictured with her blended family:her husband Kendu Isaacs,her step-daughter Jordan,8, and step-son Nas,7.Brianna(not pictured) is Mary’s 20-year-old step child. The singer,who was rumored to be pregnant this year, struggles with the idea of having children of her own. When asked in an Essence interview whether she would like kids of her own , Mary replied:

“I think I’m going to have children. But it’s not something that I have planned.But if it happens, I’m not going to get rid of my baby. Well, you know what it is with me? I’ve just got so much work. God’s got to be done with me, the low moments and all the insecurities of the past. Your kid is around you 24/7. When you have stepchildren, they come around and then they go home. My child is going to be watching me go up and down on the days that I go down. I don’t want my child to feel what I felt when I was coming up, what it was like for my mother to hurt all the time. So I have a fear-it’s probably one of my biggest fears-a fear of my child suffering, you know, with that energy.”

Maybe this black celebrity mom just doesn’t want any kids of her own.

  • If Mary is pregnant, it is her personal business. Her and her husband should be able to enjoy that special time in their lives without everyone questioning it. She deserves nothing but the best. She has changed my life as well as countless other women. When and if she does become a Mother, that child will be blessed to have such a strong role model. Mary, keep being the positive strong black women that you are, your the best at what you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I feel you. But you are very strong. I think you will be a wonderful mother. However, you do have to be ready. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. They have helped me through a lot of rough times. I have been a fan since 411. Girl you always speak the truth. Keep making those life related hits.
