Earlier this month, Jodie Foster appeared to join Everett as one of the industry’s few “out” gay stars when she thanked her “beautiful” partner, Cydney Bernard, at an awards event in LA. But Everett says that doesn’t prove acceptance of gay actors has increased. “It’s the opposite. She is 45 and she just couldn’t be bothered anymore,” he told the Times of London. “After a certain age you can be gay in Hollywood. Before that it’s not only not good, it’s impossible.” In his latest film, “St. Trini an’s,” Everett is in drag as Cam illa Fritton, headmistress of a zany girls’ boarding school.
