The 27-year-old “singer-actress” has sparked rage among Dallas Cowboys fans, angry at Simpson’s appearance at Sunday’s game and the abysmal showing by Tony Romo, their quarterback and her new boyfriend. Dallas lost, 10-6.
Asked about the Jessica Simpson situation, Terrell Owens - the team’s star wide receiver and a frequent controversy magnet himself - chimed in: “Right now, Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite … in this locker room or in Texas Stadium.”
Terrell Owens would just as soon not see this #9 show up next week.
Tony Romo had what was statistically the worst game of his career as Dallas lost to the Philadelphia Eagles… all while Simpson sat in a luxury box wearing a pink Tony Romo #9 jersey she proudly showed off for television cameras.
Her pimp and father, Joe Simpson, was also on hand.
Still in the minds of Cowboy fans is the fact that Tony Romo’s previous worst game came last December at home - also against the Eagles - when another famous girlfriend, Carrie Underwood, was in attendance.
“With everything that happened, the way Tony played and the comparison between her and Carrie Underwood, I think a lot of people feel like she’s kind of taken his focus away,” Owens said. “Other than that, she was hot on my list until last week.
And the receiver isn’t done if Jessica Simpson dares show her face again.
“Oh, I got a message for her when we make the playoffs,” he added. “Just stay tuned.”
