Brett Maher and wife welcome third child

Australian basketball player, Brett Maher, 33, and his wife, Tanya have welcomed their third child together. The little girl, Indiana Rose, arrived on Valentine's Day, the 14th of February at 8.10am in South Australia. So far, Indiana is healthy, which is a relief for Brett and Tanya who lost their son, Hudson in 2003 to a rare bone marrow disease, when he was 13 months old. However, there is still a one in four chance that Indiana will have the same disease. Indiana will require fortnightly blood tests, along with liver and spleen tests for a few months before they can give the all-clear. Tanya added that,

I was very teary with this one. With the other two, I was just caught up in the moment, really excited and happy. But with Indiana, I think everything we've gone through, it just came out. It's an amazing feeling to actually meet your child for the first time.

The couple also have another daughter, Cheyenne, 7 1/2.

The couple were having trouble conceiving and looked into adoption and IVF before becoming pregnant naturally with Indiana. Tanya runs the Hudson Maher Foundation.

The first picture is the most recent, with Brett, Tanya, Cheyenne and Indiana, and the second is of Brett, Tanya, Cheyenne and Hudson in 2002.
