Katie Holmes the New Audrey Hepburn?

According to Diane Keaton, Katie Holmes is the new Audrey Hepburn. As hard as it is for me to believe, Diane claimed her Mad Money co-star is “celebrity royalty.”

“It’s just so beautiful to watch a girl become a young woman. I tell you, I think it’s a miracle. I remember how I was at that age and how my obsession was to be Audrey Hepburn, my idol.

“Now Katie has the candle. She’s more adventurous than I am. Being the wife of Tom Cruise, she’s been thrown into a world you can’t really be prepared for, yet Katie handles it with grace.

“Like Audrey Hepburn, she’s like celebrity royalty. She has a calm center in the storm of whatever is going on around her.”

I consider Katie less like Audrey Hepburn, and more like a second-rate Victoria Beckham. Perhaps I’m being too harsh, but I just don’t get the Audrey comparison.

  • umm i really dont see the similarity at all. i cant even name more than 2 movies in which i've seen katie holmes in ! and audrey hepburn was and still is a legend and katie holmes..well not at all. i just dont see ANY resemblance and why someone would think to compare the two. i dont ge

  • this is an insult to Audrey Hepburn.Katie holmes is nobody without Tom Cruise. everyone could see how "talented" she is in Batman Begins...
    dunno wt tom cruise sees in her besides knowing how to play being naive and innocent.
    Diane Keaton sucks anyway and weird in alot of ways.
    Even Nicole Kidman is not being compared to Audrey Hepburn, how could Katie Holmes be in reach....

  • Being kind I would say that Katie Holmes is a nice actor but nowhere should Ms Hepburn's name be mentioned when it comes to Mrs Cruise. Maybe Diane Keaton has the wrong idea of what Ms Hepburn represented as a unique human being. I don't know of any actress today who could measure up to that quality.

  • This is an insult to Audrey Hepburn! She was classy, elegant, a style icon, a man's woman, and an Academy award winning actress. In her heyday she was "IT" and had "IT". She's been dead for years but everyone still knows who she is, and the movies she's made. What has Katie Holmes done? Dawson's Creek? Got a new haircut ala Posh? A movie or 2 that I've never heard of? The only thing she's done is marry that whack job bowl cut. Hardly Hollywood LEGEND material. I think Diane is WAAY out there on this one!
