Broadway Play ‘Rent’ To Be Closing In June

Sad news coming out of New York.  The Broadway play, Rent, will be closing June 1.

It closes after its evening performance on June 1, making it the seventh-longest-running Broadway show in history.

According to the producers, ticket sales slowed way down in 2007, and they decided it had run its’ course.

I saw the play in 2007, right after two of the original cast members, Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal, returned to assume their roles.  The line was all the way around the block, and I can’t believe it went from that to this!

If you can scoot over to New York and catch a final performance, you will be happily rewarded.
