The Stork: Following up on Reality TVs Power Couple

First, they showed us that you can fall in love with someone, even if the whole courting process was recorded and exploited for the sake of ratings on The Bachlorette.

Then, they showed us that your wedding can go over well, even if it is also being recorded and exploited (After all, this is technically the comfort zone of your relationship thus far). 

And now, more than two years after the roaring romance of Trista and Ryan faded into the black fuzz of television static, they pull us back in.

Trista is pregnant! 

Pause for the unmistakable sound of gasping, which is destined to occur after this announcement. 

Or perhaps that is just the sound of unwanted recognition slipping from the lungs of all the many, many people that didn’t care about the pair to begin with.   

Still, some of us spent more time watching their relationship develop than we did actively nurturing our own.  After all, it’s not like there were any video cameras on us or anything.  So, you know…Who are we trying to impress? 

Now, while this event would have been worthy of its own reality show had Ryan not been the father, we will have to all deal with the disappointment that this couple will just keep on being the poster child for love manufactured for profit. 

There has been no information alleging that their fetus will be a Hollywood Whore even before its birth on a new, baby prepping Trista and Ryan show.  But, to be fair, there have not been any reports confirming or denying this. 

Yet.
