 Johnny Depp is hoping to play the king of pop Michael Jackson in a movie about the troubled singer’s life. The “Sweeney Todd” star was rumored to have modeled himself off of Jackson for his role as Willy Wonka in the 2005 movie ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’




But Depp believes any similarities to the superstar in his portrayal are purely coincidental, he has said, “A few people have mentioned it, and it kind of took me by surprise. I really didn’t expect that, Michael Jackson was not a sort of ingredient or inspiration for the character at all.”


But he says he would love to take on the special role of playing Jackson in a movie about his life insisting, “There is still time to play him. He might get up to his old tricks again and maybe there will be a TV movie about him!”


Boy, he sure is into the weird roles!  He’s also rumored to be considering taking on the role of Pee Wee in the new Pee-Wee’s Playhouse: The Movie.

  • Johnny is a very versatile actor who can play many different part and people. He would be a good choice to portray Michael. Seeing the way he moved in Pirates, the moonwalk and other Michael dance moves should be no problem for Johnny.

  • I think Depp would be the perfect person to play Michael Jackson in the movie. I kept think of Michael Jackson when I saw Depp play Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie.

  • Why is there no news footage on this apparent suicide, Johnny J has no reason to commit suicide, i mean come on at least tell me he was in a brawl and was thrown over, or maybe even fell during a brawl, but not suicide. People are acting like this...

  • I said earlier that Jonny can pull off playin' the role of M.J. But since M.J. is trying to act he should play the part of Jonny's life. They both are weird so maybe Micheal can teach Jonny how to dance and Jonny can teach Micheal how to act.
