Anna Nicole To Be Laid To Rest

In what can only be described as a bizarre ending to a bizarre life, the court battle surrounding Anna Nicole Smith’s burial has finally been resolved.  The former Playboy Playmate and TrimSpa spokeswoman will be buried in the Bahamas, next to her son Daniel.

All of the main players in Anna Nicole’s twisted saga were in the Broward County, Florida, courtroom over the last few days, each vying for their own interests.  

Virgie Arthur, Anna Nicole’s estranged mother, wanted her daughter buried in her home state of Texas.  She even wanted Daniel’s body exhumed from his resting place in the Bahamas and shipped to Texas, as well.

Meanwhile, Anna Nicole’s former attorney and supposed boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, wanted the starlet to be buried in the Bahamas.  And Anna Nicole’s other potential baby daddy, Larry Birkhead…well, who knows what he wanted, aside from some more time in the spotlight.

The legal circus, led by the equally wacky Judge Larry Seidlin, came to a close on Thursday, when the tearful judge announced to the also tearful courtroom that Anna Nicole’s body would be turned over the guardian of her daughter, Dannielynn.  In turn, Dannielynn’s court-appointed guardian, Richard Milstein announced that the blond bombshell would, in fact, be buried in the Bahamas.

While we don’t get why the judge was all emotional about his non-verdict (seriously…pawning the decision off on someone else counts as a ruling?), we’re relieved for Anna Nicole’s sake that she’ll finally be laid to rest.
