Ryan Gosling Awarded at Santa Barbara Film Festival
Ryan Gosling is looking alternately somber and genuinely pleased at the 2008 Santa Barbara Film Festival, where he received an Independent Award Tribute at the Lobero. If you look closely at his lapel, you can see a small black ribbon that the actor is wearing as a tribute to the late Heath Ledger. The gesture was a subtle one, and the idea came from Ryan's sister, Mandy, who recently accompanied Ryan to the SAG Awards, where she said, "We just had to mark [that] something terrible has happened." Ryan sported the ribbon there as well.

I think Ryan's cute and a good actor, but I think my favorite thing about him is how friendly he looks while being interviewed by what looks like a teenage girl who's probably talking with him so she can post it on her MySpace blog later that night.
