Hollywood pays last tribute to Ledger

When I saw him as a cowboy in Brokeback Mountain, I became his fan immediately. Yes, I am talking about the unfortunate Hollywood star Heath Ledger, who expired prematurely on 22 January, 2008 at his Manhattan residence. The Oscar-nominated Australian hunk is supposed to have died on account of suspected drug overdose. It is indeed tragic that an actor of tremendous potential died at such a young age. At the recently held memorial service, many of Hollywood’s top celebrities were present, including Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes, Sienna Miller, Josh Hatnett, Ellen DeGeneres to name a few. Presence of Lindsay Lohan at the Los Angeles Sony Studio is more ironical to me, because she herself was being diagnosed at a rehab institute due to drug intake. British supermodel Lily Cole and director Todd Haynes were also spotted at the ceremony. Reportedly, the hour-long service included five eulogies to honor the man. I think Hollywood finally did its part by paying homage to the dead actor.
