Get Me Some Jason Bateman, And Super Size It

I know. There're, like, 6000 other gossip-worthy stories floating around the internets this morning (not least: did Gisele Bundchen drain all of Tom Brady's Super Bowl mojo?) (OK, I made that one up), but THIS story is the one that is most interesting to me:

THEY'RE MAKING A MOVIE OF ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.

Probably.

Which - even with the 'probably' thrown in there to harsh my buzz - is, like, the most exciting TV/entertainment news that I've had, since, well, since practically never. (MAYBE since the announcement that Paradise Hotel was coming back to TV, which was, like, just a few weeks ago - I have a short attention span - but since they won't be airing that show in Canada, that news is dead to me, and I spit on it.)

ANYHOO.

Arrested Development is THE. BEST. AMERICAN. COMEDY. in the history of the world (sorry, Thirty Rock. Close, but no dice.) And Jason Bateman is hot. So. Major big-screen funny with some Bateman action? That'd make my year.

According to Kristin of Watch With Kristin at E! Online, the AD producers 'have put the wheels in motion toward a major motion picture of the Fox TV comedy so many of us adore. I'm told by insiders that Jason and other Bluth family members have received calls from producers (Hurwitz and Howard) asking if they would be willing to shoot a movie.

"I can confirm that a round of sniffing has started," Bateman says. "Any talk is targeting a poststrike situation, of course. I think, as always, that it's a question of whether the people with the money are willing to give our leader, Mitch Hurwitz, what he deserves for his participation. And I can speak for the cast when I say our fingers are crossed."'

I've got more than my fingers crossed. I'd say that I have legs crossed, too, but that's just never true, especially when it comes to someone like Jason Bateman, so...

Let's just say I have my fingers crossed.
