Daniela Cott, a Scavenger Turned Fashion Model

Daniela Cott, at age 15, reportedly defeated 1,000 contestants to represent Argentina this spring in the Elite Model Look final which is a major competition for young models from around the world. What is so fascinating about Daniela is that when she was 13, she was working on the streets, scavenging trash.

Elite Model Management is known as one of the world's biggest modeling agencies with former pageant participants like Gisele Bundchen and Cindy Crawford. Daniela is currently one of the most talked about models because of her amazing story. It all began one night during mid-2005 when a young woman, necklace designer Marina González Winkler noticed her carrying garbage and gave Daniela some clothes and befriended her. Later Ms. González took some photos of Daniela and sent them to a modeling agent.

How cool is that! I love these rags-to-riches type stories. Daniela is really beautiful though, isn't she?

  • Brilliant Rags to Riches Story and i know it well, I am so pleased to see Daniela Cott doing so well a few years on since being discovered, which kinda makes a mockery of the recent young banned catwalk models issues!
