Forget the FIVE year mission! To boldly go where no man has gone before is going to take the next Star Trek movie longer than expected.

 

Why? Apparently Paramount doesn’t want to seek out new life and new civilizations in 2008, they want a better boxoffice in 2009!

 

I’m furious! Get the studio execs to the flight deck immediately!

 

Variety is reporting that Paramount “is pushing back the release of J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” from Dec. 25 to May 8, 2009, saying the pic’s gross potential is greater as a summer tentpole.”
