American Idol Gave the Boot to Four Contestants

American Idol gave the boot to four contestants tonight. Well, in terms of my predictions, I was only 50% right. The folks whose Idol journey's ended tonight are (in order of elimination):
  • Garrett Haley - I was slightly surprised that he got the boot this week only because he's so young. I thought young girls would've liked his voice and voted for him even though his performance was SO uninteresting. He seems like a nice guy with a good attitude though.
  • Amy Davis - This was a no-brainer cut. I should've bet some money on her getting axed because she chose a boring song and not only that, she didn't even sing it well. She does have her looks going for her so at least we may see more of her but thankfully, we don't have to hear her again.
  • Joanne Borgella - I didn't think she was going to be cut this week, but she certainly deserved it after her lousy performance.
  • Colton Berry - Simon gave him good advice tonight, albeit a little harsh, to get a job and not expect that he would make it as a big star in the business. Sure, he could surprise us one day, but based on his performances I've seen, I think not. He kinda gave me the creeps when he sang "Suspicious Minds" but of course, he might actually be a nice guy.
Elimination night is pretty tortuous, isn't it? It's bad enough that we have to watch all of the contestants perform together and it usually looks like a high school production, but they make the losers sing for everyone again. I wonder if they'd consider just doing a review of their Idol journeys and let everyone just wave goodbye to them instead.
