Jessica Alba's plum-colored Marchesa dress was a card well played. The empire waist slightly hid her growing bump, but it was the feather detailing at the chest that was the biggest distraction. She held mum on the baby's due date while talking with Ryan Seacrest, but we know that she's just beginning her third trimester and looking fabulous. Sarah estimates she's due in May.
We love a celebrity mom who's not afraid to wear a little color and Kelly Preston showed no fear in this bright yellow-orange, Roberto Cavalli dress. The joy of the color was that it washed her skin in a beautiful golden sheen and made her hair shine with natural highlights.
Some people think black dresses at the Academy Awards are boring, we beg to differ. We don't care what the color is, it's about how you wear and what you put it with, and Jennifer Garner did alright by us. Her long, black, Oscar de la Renta dress fit her magnificently and her accessories completed the look perfectly!
Cate Blanchett has a style about her that is classically stunning. She embraces her figure and outfits it perfectly, even when she's well into her third trimester! She opted for a navy Dries Van Note dress, but hers didn't attempt to hide her growing belly and instead highlighted it wonderfully.
While you couldn't easily make out Nicole Kidman's baby bump, you couldn't miss her glow. Ever since confirming that she and hubby, country music star, Keith Urban, were expecting, we've been hard pressed to catch her not smiling and glowing brightly. Her basic black, custom made Balenciaga dress, was anything but, with the addition of a stunning 1,399-carat diamond, tiered necklace by L'Wren Scott.
We may be in the minority for this, but we loved Heidi Klum's custom-made, fun and funky, bright red dress from John Galliano. The dress fit her amazing figure very well and the red shawl just made it even more eye-catching.
There was something simple and yet stunning about Keri Russell's Nina Ricci dress. The corseted top and flowing skirt was pure ball gown material and the pale champagne color actually worked on Keri perfectly.
Jillian Fink Dempsey, on the arm of Mr. McDreamy himself, husband Patrick Dempsey, wore a strapless coral column gown with an extended train. The color really popped and looked great with Jill's flowing blonde locks. The ruching detail at her chest added some interest to an otherwise simple, classic dress.
The minimalist look was what Summer Phoenix was all about last evening. Supporting nominated husband Casey Affleck (and sitting next to sister-in-law Jennifer Garner during the ceremony), Summer chose a black empire waist gown with jewel detailing at the bust and a scoop neckline. The new mom accessorized lightly with a diamond bracelet and earrings, and kept her stylish bob simple, with just a few well-placed curls.
Calista Flockhart looked stunning in a floor length gown by Rare Vintage. The ice blue color looked great against her skin and the brown sash changed the entire shape of the dress. Her champagne clutch topped off the ensemble nice and cleanly.
