Vampire Weekend drummer Chris Tomson "100% fit" after hit-and-run accident

[/cut]Talk about bad luck. Vampire Weekend drummer Chris Tomson was involved in a hit-and-run accident last night while walking on a London street. Obviously, the driver who hit Tomson never stopped and has officially earned the award for "Biggest Jerk of the Week". [cut = Read more...] According to NME.com Tomson was treated for head and neck injuries at Royal London Hospital but was given a clean bill of health. Here's an official statement from their publicist:

"Vampire Weekend's Chris Tomson was the victim of a hit and run accident last night while walking in London.  He has since been released from the hospital and declared 100% fit, despite some bangs and bruises. The band was in the UK for some shows and promo and will be returning to the US this weekend."

The band canceled a performance scheduled for tonight at Rough Trade in London, a wise move, but will continue on as planned. VW's upcoming North American dates, which includes a stop at Coachella are listed below:
