Amy Winehouse has Crusty Skin Disease

Amy Winehouse has recently been spotted sporting what looks like a large, swollen left cheek, leaving many wondering what happened. Amy’s publicist revealed today that the sultry singer suffers from impetigo.

“Amy has been diagnosed with impetigo which she’s been told can be highly contagious. Because of that she’s been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days.”

What is impetigo you might ask? According to Medline Plus Medical Encylopedia: Impetigo is a skin disorder caused by bacterial infection and characterized by crusting skin lesions.  Impetigo begins as an itchy, red sore that blisters, oozes and finally becomes covered with a tightly adherent crust. It tends to grow and spread. Impetigo is contagious. The infection is carried in the fluid that oozes from the blisters.

Ewwwwww!
