At least, that’s the case for Heather Mills. Her divorce settlement with ex-husband Paul McCartney was announced today, and she’s “so, so happy” with the judgment.
It breaks down like this - Mills will receive a lump sum of $33 million in cash, which, when combined with the additional $15 million in assets, totals nearly $50 million.
The judge determined that Miss Mills’ annual need was $1.2 million, and also granted her a $5 million sum with which to purchase a residence in London. Not too shabby!
And while the decision has been handed down, it doesn’t sound like the public circus is anywhere near over. Heather told press, “I am standing here because Paul is insistent on the whole judgment being put out. I’ve said that if the whole judgment goes out then all the transcripts have to go out because it’s going to be written in a way that they will try and make it that I wasn’t successful.”
