Finally! Doesn't it seem like Halle Berry has been pregnant forever and a day? I must say, I do love how she has stayed out of the limelight while carrying instead of strutting her bloated self down through Kitson. Here's confessing7girl with some thoughts of Halle's choice of baby names. (Personally, 'Nahla' harkens us back to the adorable female lead in The Lion King...which is always a good thing. You never can have too much Lion King.)
Nahla was born at 10:17 am on Sunday morning. She is the first child for Oscar-winning actress Halle, 41, and her boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry, 32.
Halle and Gabriel are in a private birthing suite at Cedars Sinai with their baby. They are all said to be doing well and are expected to leave the hospital sometime this week.
Halle Berry has carried on the tradition of celebrities giving their offspring unusual names, and named her newborn daughter, Nahla Ariela Aubry.
The Oscar-winning actress, who gave birth to her much longed for baby girl on Sunday morning, has been inspired by the Arabic word for 'drink of water' in naming her first born.
While the girl's middle name 'Ariel' comes from Hebrew and means 'lion for God'. Nahla takes the surname of her father, model Gabriel Aubry.
A day after Nahla's birth, Aubry's sister, Eugenie, told "It's been a long time since we've had a new baby in the family. It's very exciting."
