The â€Ëœhard partying’ husband of soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae has been confirmed dead after a suspected drug overdose after police found his body at his Leeds home after being called in.
A 32-year old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug peddling considering the 31-year old Jason Rae has had a longstanding history of drug addiction. Thought the initial autopsy had proved inconclusive, the police are waiting for toxicology results to officially announce the cause of death.
Jason, who was found dead on Saturday afternoon, had been better known for playing the saxophone and his jazz band, the Haggis Horn have had many remarkable performances to their name including a backup act for Amy Winehouse. He had also been his wife’s manager and accompanied her on tour in 2006.
Corrine Bailey Rae, who has a no-nonsense and squeaky-clean image in the industry, is said to be devastated by her husband’s death and her reps have confirmed that no public statement for her will be made anytime soon.
