There is a Chicago artist well known all over Europe and other various parts of the world including New York and California whom writes and plays all of his music...  He has refused to play the big music industry game so basically has been on his hustle...

Well apparently when Britney Spears Blackout album leaked it featured a track called Sugarfall which was produced by Pharrell...Rumor has it that Peven Everett the artist previously mentioned was in the works with a famous hip-hop star who basically admitted that he had been giving out Peven's music all over the industry because as he would put it "there is a drought"...If you have been listening to the radio or watching videos I don't need to explain that any further.  He asked Peven if he could slide Pharrell some music (Peven said no)and "sugarfall" leaked shortly after.

Check out the video in the links as well as Peven's myspace.

I am trying to bring out the truth so that the people have great art and music to fill their lives.

  • WOW, I can't believe how low these pop "artists" will stoop. Or, well, actually I can! Peven is a one of the few TRUE GREAT ARTISTS OF OUR TIME. I have had the privledge of listening and dancing to him play LIVE in Chicago over several years, and have been following his music ever since. I know with out a doubt that that song is HIS, and I hope he SUES THE CRAP OUT OF ANYONE INVOVLED IN STEALING IT!

Much love to Peven and Chitown and all the REAL artists out there. Keep doin what you do!

  • Peven always comes strong! "Can't Believe I Love Her" is the best! I wish Masters at Work would do a remix for him.

  • My question is...so now what?! Does Peven go through the Justice System to collect on how wronged he was? Does he sever ties with Q Tip who deliberately disobeyed his wishes not to share his music! What??

  • It is to my understanding that the Justice system is flawed in this case even though Pharrell probably got a large advance for his stolen track he got the money not Peven and Peven's cost to defend his music would eventually not really be worth it hence the youtube beef.(I'm Sure) If you also notice no one from Pharrell's camp has responded. I find it interesting. You can't really defend yourself when the allegation is the truth. The industry had been influenced by Peven's music in a major way so they should just back off him ad let him do what he was born to do.
    Ps Shame on Tip
