Brad Pitt Set to Produce Lost City of Z

Brad Pitt's production studio has purchased the rights to Lost City of Z.

Pitt – who surfaced in Texas Monday after a weekend of inaccurate rumors he wed Angelina Jolie – is set to produce the film and possibly star as British explorer Col. Percy Harrison Fawcett, who searched the Amazon in 1925 for the lost city.

Pitt's company, Plan B, purchased the rights ahead of the February publication of David Grann's Lost City of Z book, which is based on his 2005 New Yorker article about Fawcett.

Meanwhile Pitt's ex and former partner in Plan B, Jennifer Aniston, has formed a film company called Echo Films.
