LALATE called it for you first. Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body” has gone to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, making it her 18th career #1 hit, passing Elvis Presley’s 17 #1s.
In a new press release obtained by LALATE CELEBRITY NEWS moments ago from Universal Music, Universal Island Def Jam Music Group representative Laura Swanson says “Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 50 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles’ all-time high of 20 #1 hits.”
“Touch My Body” premiered at a record setting 286,000 debut and radio audience of over 115 million.
The video is number #1 on the Yahoo Music Video Chart, Yahoo Launchcast and AOL. And Mariah’s widget has even been viewed 4.26 million times.
Mariah’s album first revealed to here on LALTE will drop April 15.
