Ryan Phillippe Romance Rumors: Ashlee Simpson, An 18 Year Old... And Reese

Since Ryan Phillippe was hardly able to make his marriage work and stay loyal to his wife when they were bound by the supposedly holy vows of matrimony, we find it pretty hard to believe that the former Mr. Reese Witherspoon is really trying to do everything in his power to make amends and put his family back together in the midst of their estrangement.
 
Still, the other Phillippe rumors in the romance department don't sound incredibly likely either.
 
Last week, he was spotted driving away with an 18 year old.  Don’t worry – she is dating one of his friends.  That makes it all better, doesn’t it?
 
Now we hear conflicting reports about Ryan and Ashlee Simpson giggling up a storm together.  Ryan laughing heartily, let alone giggling, sounds about as likely as Jessica’s little sister giving up after just one turn under the knife.
 
But still, Ryan comes back to letting the general public know that he wants to work things out with his successful, gorgeous wife, who actually seems to be making plenty of her own friends (cough*Jake  Gyllenhaal*cough).
