"It's gonna be rad," Simms commented, when asked about the new record. "I wrote some songs with John of Secondhand Serenade. They're awesome." And what about Simms' hair of which a portion was shaved off? Was she playing a wild game of Truth or Dare? "That's what somebody else just said. Did you lose a bet? I was like, no but you're gonna lose the feeling in your face in a minute."
It appears as though what you wear at Bamboozle Left has become just as important as the music. What fashion accessories dominated the festival this year? Simms lists off American Apparel, Glamour Kills and shirts that "look like picnic baskets." So what trends does the band want to set for the rest of '08? Simms suggests large belt buckles, side-of-the-head shaving and feathers. "Birds didn't start feathers. Juliet did," drummer Daniel Currier yelled.
Currier appeared to be the jokester of the band. When inquiring about the neediest member of the group, Currier referred to bassist Sean Noll whose rider is packed with, "tampons, diapers, a little pillow to cry in when he gets tired for nap time, [and] a security blanket...." And as for Noll's description of Bamboozle Left: "A place where people go and like get naked and play music and have a lot of fun. Like what the hippies used to do, but we’re not hippies. We’re a bunch of emo kids.”
