Jolie’s character will be based on real-life intelligence operative Kathi Lynn Austin.

The film will focus on Austin’s bid to hunt down a fictional arms dealer inspired by Victor Bout, the Russian who is considered one of the world's most prolific dealers in illegal munitions.

“This project has all the right ingredients. It will build on the super-spy concept of the Bourne franchise, which took secret agent movies to a new level,” The Daily Star quoted a source, as saying.

“At the same time it will have one of the most beautiful women in the world as its lead.

“You have to conclude it will be a very good thing – both for the viewers and for Jolie’s career,” the source added.
