Britney Spears : 'Get help or you're dumped'

Britney Spears will meet up with her record label for crisis talks about the future of her career this week reports Digital Spy.

Jive Records plan to tell Spears to stop partying and take more care of her public image if she wants to avoid being dropped by the company. The news comes shortly after Britney posted a message on her website promising a new album and tour.

“The last couple of years have been quite a ride for me, the media has criticized my every move and printed a skewed perception of who I really am as a human being,” she wrote in a letter posted Friday.

“The last couple of years have been very enlightening for me and now that I've had the time to be ‘me,’ I've been able to sit down and think about where I want to go with myself as an entertainer with absolutely no strings attached.”

“I am now more mature and feel like I am finally ‘free,’” she said.

A source told the News of the World: "They're concerned for Britney because she's one of their priority artists. She's lost her edge and they worry she won't finish the album. The partying hasn't helped her image one bit. Her unofficial website has shut down because fans are leaving her in droves."

The insider added: "She had been in the studio, but was having real problems. It seemed like all that partying has caught up with her."

According to CBS news, Britney Spears is being forced to take notice.

"That is probably a wake-up call for Britney," US Weekly contributing editor Katrina Szish told The Early Show co-anchor Hannah Storm. "Her fans are so loyal. No matter what she does, they seem to love her and forgive her. But the fact that this huge Web site has said we are not approving and will discontinue this Web site should make her realize there's a problem."

"We had reports that she was in a spa prior to New Year's or checked in response to those bloated photographs. But it looks like she's doing anything to get her positive image back," Szish said.
