Basketball star Carmelo Anthony was arrested Monday, for suspicion of drunk driving. According to reports his Fiance, former MTV VJ LaLa refused to come pick his up.  Carmelo, somehow talked the officer into dropping him off at his hotel room @ the Ritz Cartlon in Denver instead of his home. interesting...

 

 Here,  is the statement LaLa issued today re rumors she rufused to pick up her man:

 "I want to make sure the public understands that I fully support my fiancé, Carmelo Anthony, and stand by him through this ordeal," Vazquez, a former MTV veejay, says in a statement to PEOPLE on Tuesday. "I will always have his back and never refused to pick him up from the police station. In fact, they offered to bring him to me."

 

Carmelo, also issued his own statement:

 "LaLa continues to be a rock in my life, she's always been there for me through thick and thin."

Sounds like damage control to me. Carmelo and LaLa supposedly live in Denver, so why did Carmelo get dropped off at a hotel and not his house?
