Mitch Winehouse explained that his daughter is struggling to cope after breaking up with her chef boyfriend Alex Claire. He hopes that her management will allow her to take time off as she sorts out her problems.
Amy's father told the Sunday Mirror: "I'm not ruling out rehab. Amy needs a break. They don't send you to rehab just because you've broken up with someone. There are other things. Amy needs a rest. Her workload is absolutely manic."
"She's an emotional girl. Her schedule has caused problems with Alex. He wants to see her. I don't know if that's the reason for the break-up - but wouldn't you want to see your boyfriend now and again?" Amy cancelled some of her gigs after the split from her boyfriend.
