Yesterday the first winner of American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, sang "Ava Maria" for Pope Benedict XVI who is now visiting in New York. The picture at the top is the Pope in his Popemobile in Fifth Ave yesterday.

Kelly Clarkson performance was okay, but nothing can be compared to the amazing "Ava Maria" performance of Bono and Pavarotti. Click on the video below to watch.

  • I believe Kelly did an awsone job. No one is comparing her to Bono or Pavarotti. They are each different singers. What would you rather conutry crooner Carrie Underwood, or Chris Daughtry or Ruben sing it. Kelly was brave to do it and gave an excellent performance. It WAS an audience full of young people, think about it!!!

  • She sucked.. and the worse someone should have told her to be alittle more humble and walk up to him not have the Pope at 81 years old bend down to shake her hand..
    maybe the extra pounds she packed on wouldn't let walk up the few steps to show respect even if she isn't catholic and doesn't believe in him..
    lose the DIVA THING KELLY!! cause your not one!
