Tom Cruise Heads Back To Oprah’s Couch- For Therapy?

After a brief, but memorable stint as a professional jumping baffoon of an actor, Tom Cruise seeks to reclaim his role as the “Most famous couch hopping idiot on T.V.”…or will he?

Tom Cruise is scheduled to return to “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” nearly three years after a couch-jumping appearance.

This time, the show will be a two-parter. Tom will celebrate is breakout roll as a slick, horny teen, Joel, in the film “Risky Business”. It’s now the films 25th anniversary.

Yes, Tom. Your “butt” is old now.

Friends and colleagues will surprise Cruise with taped messages honoring his work in movies, according to a statement Thursday from Harpo Productions.

Winfrey will interview Cruise from his home in Telluride, Colo., for the first show on May 2, which will cover his “family, his life and the future,” Harpo said.

Then on May 5, Cruise will appear in Winfrey’s Chicago studio.

He’s actually coming out…to the studio.

I think I understand this.

Look, Tom is obviously emotional. People just don’t jump on couches about who they love…so I guess he’s “unique.”

On the other hand, serious career damage control must be done.

It’s great to take out minds off Tom’s current woes like:

  • The rumors or separation from Katie Holmes.
  • The Scientology backlash
  • The pushing back the release date of his latest film, Valkyrie.
  • His career jeopardy…and the rumors or separation from Katie Holmes…

I know I said that last line twice because…if it’s true…didn’t we see this coming?

Anyway, it’s time to reposition yourself, Tom.

Bring back that Paramount man…that got you Top Gun billing!

As you said on Tavis Smiley several years ago, “I’ve never lost a studio money.”

Show us your “money” again, Tom.  In that Jerry Maguire way that you do…what you do.

Bring back that “tail” sex appeal that all the ladies love.

Will it work? Can he reclaim his hottie status?

Or has too much “Collateral” damage been done?
