Overall, the night saw the ladies taking the lead yet again -- showing that it's going to be hard for any of the guys to make it through to the end. Among the women, Melinda and LaKisha were the standouts, with Jordan coming in a close third. Among the guys, there was really no one who brought their A-game.
And by the way, it seems that AI is involved in a pretty sticky lawsuit. Former American Idol contestant Mario Vazquez (remember him? the cute guy who dropped out in season 5) has been slapped with a sexual harassment claim. The employee claims he was canned for complaining about Mario's wandering hands after the wannabe singer followed him into the bathroom and made unwanted sexual advances.
Around the same time as the alleged incident, Mario dropped out of the competition for "personal reasons". Turns out those reasons may have been really personal. Like, "Oops…I just dropped my trousers," kind of personal.
Don't get us wrong. We're not lawyers (we've just seen them played on TV), but wouldn't Mario have to have been some sort of bigwig at American Idol in order to have the power to fire this guy?
Yet all of this sexed-up scandal begs the question - what do they put in the water over there at American Idol? With all the nudie photos, claims of affairs, and sexual harassment in the last few seasons, apparently it's Spanish Fly.
But let's get back to business... who is going to be the first of the 12 to be sent packing? There were a number of less-than-stellar performers, and some even forgot the words (get it together, people) -- but if it were up to us, we'd give Hayley and Sanjaya the boot. So, place your bets because you never know how that crazy American public will vote (at least they got the Antonella vote right).

Will you miss Paula Abdul at the American Idol judges table?
