Nick Cannon's Family Confirms Mariah Carey Wedding

Family member Linda Cannon told E! that Nick called her with the good news.

"Yes, we know. He called us and told us all about it," she said. "We are happy for him. If that is what he wants, then we are happy for him."

She added, "I'm not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him."

Latina magazine first broke the news Thursday.

The New York Post also reported that they secretly got hitched at Carey's new home in Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

The Post quoted a source as saying, "There was no prenup - there wasn't time."

Another Carey pal told the Post, "Everyone is happy to see her happy. And it could work out - some people know each other for five years and get divorced. Maybe this is true, instant love."

Carey recently has been sporting a 17-carat diamond ring that looks similar to the one Cannon gave his ex Selita Ebanks, but Ebanks' rep said yesterday it is not the same ring.

Ebanks, told Usmagazine.com, "I have no comment but wish them well."
