Uma first became aware of him when she was on a movie set in NYC in November 2005 and he handed her a card bearing a picture of an open grave and a man standing on the edge of a razor blade that contained the written message, "My hands should be on your body at all times." Her hands were shaking when she testified. "I was completely freaked out. It was like a nightmare. It was scary." The card also contained random words written in a spiral. Some were crossed out. From the witness stand, she read some of the words that were legible: "Chocolate, mouth, soft, kissing." When she first opened the card, little bits of torn paper fell out. One was a picture of a bride with her head torn off.
Uma also said that when she called her family in upstate New York to tell them about the stalker, her father informed her the Jack Jordan had contacted him, her mother and brother as well. "I felt a stone drop in my stomach," she said. "The idea that this had a history made it even more terrifying." One of the emails he wrote specifically named her children.
Jordan's attorney is arguing he a former mental patient who has been diagnosed as schizophrenic and bipolar and should be in psychiatric treatment, not in jail. He faces up to a year in jail.
He seems incredibly delusional and violent, and I'm a outraged the MAXIMUM penalty for this crime is a year. Remember Rebecca Schaffer, her stalker killed her?
