Talking about "The Phone," MTV Executive Vice President of Programming and Series Development Tony Disanto said in a statement: "Each week will be an action-packed mini-movie." Said to be in the vein of movies like "The Bourne Identity," each show will feature contestants who, after answering a hidden cell phone, will have to decide if they want to take part in a mission for a cash prize. There's no word yet on your fate if you decline, but we all know what happened in "Saw" and "Phone Booth" now, don't we?
While running around on your moneymaking adventure, a helicopter will follow your every move. (How nosey of them, right?) "Genre-busting and reinvention is at the core of what we do, and 'The Phone' does just that," Disanto said. Riiight.
