"Monkey, will you marry me?" Am I the only person who found the proposal between The Bachelor's, Matt Grant, and Shayne Lamas to be one of the sweetest proposals ever? Underneath the peroxide blonde and lip plumping gloss, I also think Shayne was one of the cutest, least dramatic contestants to appear on The Bachelor in a while. I've been a Shayne fan from the start and felt a genuine sense of happiness for the new couple, right before I dug into my own pint of Chunky Monkey ice cream, left to wonder when my Prince Charming is due to show up at my door…drift82 has the story:
Chelsea had a good run, but as this Hollywood Gossip editor concluded in yesterday’s Face-Off, Shayne Lamas was simply out of her league.
After 10 weeks, Matt Grant had narrowed the field down to two, and despite some tough moments with his family, it was an easy call - Shayne Lamas.
At the final rose ceremony, Chelsea was the first out of the limo, which is never a good sign. Matt told her she’s amazing, and this experience would not be the same without her… BUT it’s just not gonna work out long-term.
Upset at the rejection, Chelsea lashed out at Matt Grant and called Shayne “the fakest person” on The Bachelor. Matt wasn’t pleased with this.
But he had more important business to attend to - like getting engaged! He tells Shayne Lamas that he came here for true love and found it with her. Matt then got down on one knee and shocked Shayne by proposing to her.
She happily answered yes. Lots of kissing and squealing followed. They said “I love you” approximately 74 times. Her hair was in her eyes. We cried a little.
