Unfortunately, rather than having using a face donated from an actual attractive person, Simmons had to satisfy himself with tightening up the ugly mug he has at the moment. Gene Simmons and his long-time love, Shannon Tweed, both opted to go under the knife together, with the process chronicled by their A&E show, "Gene Simmons Family Jewels." People magazine reports:

The show does take some creative license, making it appear that Tweed tricks Simmons into doing it: He acts surprised when he finds himself in the Beverly Hills offices of Dr. Frank Ryan - and hears that the procedures will run over $40,000 each. (Actually, Dr. Ryan hints that the surgery was gratis.)
Ugh. I can't stand Gene Simmons. He's so fakey-fake and gross. I met him once when he came in for a meeting with one of the TV executives where I worked (probably trying to sell this show) and even though he looks like a troll with a bad dye job, ol' boy STILL thought he was working it. That is, until he kept flirting with one of the girls who clearly had no idea who he was and very politely avoided his sad attempts at charm.
