For everyone who has ever been an outsider, told they weren't "in the club", or good enough, or "one of us" --- This is our Moment. Now, some of you might not understand the importance of this moment. Some of you don't know or don't care much for American history and some might even allow your bias and prejudices to blind you from seeing how historic this is. But today's nomination of Barack Obama as the Democratic Nominee for President represents an amazing moment for ALL of us.
Yesterday, marked an historic moment for this nation. Yesterday, we slapped down our ugly, hypocritical, and shameful past of slavery, indigenous genocide, segregation, voting restrictions, and the spiritual sewer of racism, sexism, and hate. It was an AMAZING moment to witness. I know some never thought they'd see the day. And regardless of your personal opinion on Obama or Clinton, it's undeniable that this nation has finally taken an amazing step toward fulfilling the promised capacity instilled in the very lifeblood of our beloved country. The first bi-racial man and the first woman were the top tier candidates of a major political party, wow, this is truly historic.
It is an amazing time to be alive.
