Tickets for the event, scheduled for Friday, didn't even go on sale before the gig was nixed because of "contractual obligations" for the singer to appear only in Idol-approved shows.
"They're just going to reschedule the event for a later time," dad Jeff Archuleta told paper. "When all the minds met, everyone concluded this wouldn't work out for this particular weekend, and they just want to reschedule it for toward the middle or the end of the [American Idol summer] tour," he said.Proceeds were to be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Make-a-Wish Foundation.
