What's it like having a superstar for a stepmother? About as crummy as you'd expect life to be with a drug addled ego maniac. Just ask Bobby Brown's son Landon. According to Landon, he and Whitney Houston never, ever got along. For instance, Whitney had many bizarre rules for Landon. Like he wasn't allowed to sleep on the premises. Whitney wanted to make it clear that her home wasn't his home. He could hang out, but he had to sleep in the guest house. This rule was pretty strictly enforced too. Landon says that on the odd occasion when he'd fall asleep on around the house, Bobby would wake him up, and gesture toward the door.

What's more he wasn't allowed to associated with his half sister Kristina. Landon says that he loves his sister, and wanted to get closer to her. When ever he tried, staff would interject themselves, and tell Landon that the girl "needed her space".

Landon would soon get to see things from the staff's perspective. Whitney always had trouble introducing him as her step son. So when he hit his teens, Whitney hit on a novel way to explain his presence. She got him a black shirt with the word 'security' written on the breast pocket. That way he could be passed off as a part of her entourage. You can't say that she never got him anything.

Now Landon has an explanation for the wicked step mother routine. Apparently the Houstons and the Browns have never gotten along. An example of this is the behavior of Whitney's mom Cissy Houston. When Landon attended one of her concerts, and began dancing to the music, grandma was quick to pounce. She sidled up to him, told him to settle down, and then belted him across the face. Cissy ain't a small woman, and Landon says that the smack really smarted. After that he was more careful when he attended her concerts (no doubt wearing his sharp security guard duds).

Apart from the humiliation and isolation, Landon says life with Whit wasn't so bad. For one thing she and Bobby really got along. In fact they still do. The divorced couple have been seen out together frequently, with young Kristina in tow. Landon says that they talk to each other almost constantly. In fact Landon suspects that at some point, they'll get back together. Now that's probably a good bet. They have so much in common - sniff, sniff, wink, wink.

Post Script: If the name Landon Brown sounds familar, it should. Not only was he recently on MTV's Rock the Cradle, but he also did Lindsay Lohan in a public washroom! Not that getting in Lin makes him a member of an exclusive club.

Speaking of which Timberwolves Marko Javic is becoming a member of a very exclusive club. He proposed to Brazilian supetrmodel Adriana Lima a few days back, on her 27th birthday. Looks like Lima is gonna have to turn in her V card.
