Young Guns (Go for It)

You must remember when I wrote about the hissy fit Mario Lopez was supposedly throwing about his "A Chorus Line" co-star Nick Adams (All About Sleeve), about whom the "Saved by the Bell" diva was feeling acute "bicep envy" and demanded that Nick cover up his arms as to not outgun his own. Now comes word that 2(x)ist underwear was considering both men as the brand's new, uh, face, but in the end Slater was passed over for the chorus boy:

"Mario was originally No. 1 on our radar as we planned the campaign," said an insider. "We were ready to call him with an offer, but then we saw Nick. He's younger, sexy, more interesting. On top of that, his body was crazy. We set up a meeting, and when he walked in, that was it. We never even looked at anyone else after that."

This quote sounds pretty manufactured, but more officially, 2(x)ist's creative director, my pal Jason Scarlatti did say this: "Nick's very masculine, sexy, modern. It's totally all about his body. Mario is a good-looking guy, but Nick had it. He's up and coming, the new face of sexy. He's original. He's hot."

Ouch. I'd say Screech is lucky he's not around to be someone's punching bag. (If it makes ya feel any better, Mario, I think you're way hotter. )
