Crime Show Actress Asks Entertainment Tonight For Crimesolving Help

Actress Pauley Perrette, who plays a criminologist on NCIS, a murder-y crime show on CBS that I have never seen because I am a big fat wuss when it comes to murder-y crime shows, chose an interesting tactic when her friend went missing last Wednesday. She contacted the tabs.

Lami Nicole Powlesland, 24, was last seen in Hollywood, and some of her personal possessions were found outside a "popular outdoor workout spot," according to E! Online.

I have to say, when I read Pauley's original statement and request for help, it didn't sound promising:

"Her purse was found at one end of Runyon Canyon with all the contents in it; her jewelry was found in another part of Runyon Canyon," says Perrette, who plays criminologist Abby Sciuto on the show and happens to have a criminology degree in real life.

She added that Powlesland, who was recently released from a mental hospital in Tennessee, hasn't used her ATM or credit cards recently. No one has been able to locate her black 2008 Jeep Liberty.

Luckily, thanks to Entertainment Tonight, we now know the story already has a happy ending. Pauley emailed the show yesterday to report that police (who were continuing to search for Lami all weekend) found her friend alive and well. (In her vehicle, in a Ralph's parking lot in Hollywood.)

"Thankfully, this one has a happy ending. I was with the missing girl's parents at my church this morning when we got the call that she was found. The L.A.F.D. and the L.A.P.D. were amazing in their late-night search of Runyon Canyon!"

Sounds like Pauley is a good friend, and hopefully Lami will continue to get some help for whatever caused her to abandon her belongings and go missing like that. No matter what, happy endings = awesome for everybody involved. And hey, good for Pauley for putting the tabloids to GOOD use instead of rabid fame-whoringcoughcoughspencerheidi.
