KIM CATTRALL was still buzzing over 'Sex and the City''s box-office win, saying, "It's just been one high after another," and author CANDACE BUSHNELL played coy about talks of a sequel at the so-called "Oscars of fashion," the annual awards blow-out thrown by the Council of Fashion Designers of America honoring the heavyweights of style.
Held at the New York Public Library, the CFDA handed out awards for Accessory Designer and Menswear and Womenswear Designers of the Year, just to name a few. FRANCISCO COSTA (CALVIN KLEIN) beat out LAZARO HERNANDEZ (PROENZA SCHOULER) and MARC JACOBS for the coveted Womenswear honor, while TOM FORD took home the Menswear title and advised women, "Don't wear anything you don't like!" Tiny, blonde handbag designer TORY BURCH trumped both MARC JACOBS and five-time nominee MICHAEL KORS for Accessory Designer of the year.
In the audience were style icons such as KENNETH COLE, TOM FORD, TOMMY HILFIGER, DONNA KARAN, MICHAEL KORS, RALPH LAUREN, MONIQUE LHUILLIER, ZAC POSEN and VERA WANG. CAROLINA HERRERA received the GEOFFREY BEENE Lifetime Achievement Award from legend Calvin Klein himself.
